This six-week dialogue workshop and training is led by Kaleidoscope Institute (KI) facilitators and is designed to help us embrace and enact the vision of Becoming Beloved Community, which is a lifelong spiritual and faith journey. KI believes change happens in the space between comfort and fear – what Eric Law has described as the Grace Margin. Our work is based on respectful communication, building relationships where persons can change and learn in developmentally appropriate ways. This workshop and training is intended to satisfy the Episcopal and other denominational Canonical requirements for all lay and ordained leaders to participate in anti-racism training. It includes exploration of historical and contextual instances of oppression and racism in which we all participate. We use models and processes to explore bias, power, and the systems of injustice and inequality. Our disciplines include:

dialogue,
noticing and wondering together,
questioning assumptions,
telling the truth about ourselves and our organizations,
modeling alternatives to current patterns and problems.

We provide guided opportunities for personal reflection (Handouts), asynchronous group reflection and interaction (Threaded Discussions), and synchronous group interaction (Zoom web conversations)

Bill is an Episcopal priest and is well versed in helping us see through multicultural lenses. brings an MDiv focused on liturgy, multiculturalism and ecumenism from the Episcopal Divinity School and a Certificate in International Ecumenism and Mission from the Boston Theological Institute. He has served as a Diversity and Inter-Cultural Awareness trainer/facilitator since 1998 and is a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (c).

Now an Associate and Northeast Coordinator with the Kaleidoscope Institute , Bill plans and facilitates workshops in congregational vitality, multiculturalism, leadership development and mission sustainability.
