Episcopal Tradition: Prayer and Worship explores how Christians can connect to and with God personally and communally. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of Episcopal prayer and worship and increased confidence in their ability to lead them. Together we will explore the significance of ritual practices and the liturgical year, the basics of liturgy and the expressive and formative potential of worship, try inherited ancient and contemporary practices, and reflect on the nature of worship in light of rapidly changing congregational contexts. This course will meet online synchronously in 90-minutes zoom sessions and asynchronously for readings, assignments, reflection, and conversation.

This course uses an online format: teaching and learning take place both synchronously (in 90-minute sessions) and asynchronously (communication, conversation, readings, assignments, and reflections).

The Rev. Victor Conrado is the Canon for Congregational Vitality and Formation for the Diocese of New York. He provides leadership to the arenas of Congregational Development, Vitality and Formation and Latino Ministries in the Diocese. He is also an adjunct professor at Bexley Seabury Seminary and teaches Anglican Liturgy and Music with Milner Seifert.

Born in Colombia, Victor received his MDiv at the Jesuit Theological Seminary in Nairobi, Kenya in 2000 and was ordained to the Priesthood in Colombia in 2001. He emigrated to the US; he was received into the Episcopal Church by the Bishop of Chicago in 2009 and his orders were received in 2011. He also is a trainer for the College for Congregational Development.
