This course explores the why, what, and how of Evangelism, inviting participants to engage in this foundational Christian practice whoever you are, wherever you may find yourself. We will hear together from luminaries in the church-of-what-is-happening-now, about how we are called to seek, name, and celebrate the Good News of Jesus Christ in our own way and at our own time. And we will learn how to share our story and our Story beyond ourselves, in worship, in word, in witness, and in the world. Participants will engage deeply through the study of scripture, reading, discussion, and written reflection, preparing a final capstone project that expresses how they are being called to share the Good News in their own context.

Certification:
At the conclusion of this evangelism path, each participant will be eligible to receive a Certificate as a Lay Evangelist in the Episcopal Church, subject to the approval of their diocesan bishop and in coordination with any additional diocesan requirements

Kristin LeMay finally found her long-lost church home in the Episcopal Church when in her twenties, and she has since been gifted to find her vocation there too. Across twenty-five years, she has worked as an editor, communicator, and graphic designer creating resources for formation and evangelism for The Society of Saint John the Evangelist, The Presiding Bishop’s Office of the Episcopal Church, and Faith-filled Families at VTS, among others. Recent highlights include making “The BIG Way of Love for Kids” formation resource, designing for the “It’s All About Love” Festival for the Jesus Movement, and working on the core team of the “Love. Always.” Revival at the 2024 General Convention in Louisville, KY. The Spirit is still moving!

You can now find her at home on the staff at Forward Movement where she works as an Editor and Content Developer. She sits on the Board of the Procter Center and serves on the Bishop’s Mission Implementation Team for the Diocese of Southern Ohio. A graduate of Harvard Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and Harvard Divinity School, she has published two books on Emily Dickinson and translated the work of biblical scholar François Bovon. She has taught courses at Harvard University and Ohio University, and now Bexley Seabury. She worships at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Athens, Ohio and serves on their vestry.
